A Special Senior 2009

Jordan was my Kindergarten aide this year. At our small school, seniors can get credit for an aide as an elective. Typically they run off copies, sort papers, and those kinds of things. Jordan did all of that and more. He was great with the kids and gave them a lot of one on one help. They loved him and while we were all happy to see him graduate, we were also sad to see him leave. He is a very polite, sweet young man.

His Mom found out from a friend that I take pictures and asked me to do his Senior portraits. I already knew Jordan was a lot of fun, but I found out that his Mom is, too. We met up at a state park that includes an antebellum house. Jordan is probably the most cooperative teenage guy you could ever photograph! =)

I love this first picture.

This next picture is the one his Mom chose to put in his invitations. She said his whole family insisted on it, saying that this picture "is Jordan."

His cap and gown were not in when we took the first pictures, so we met again a couple of weeks later to do those. I thought since we live on the Mississippi River, that would be the perfect background-- and I think I made an excellent choice! The river looks like a painting behind him and I ended up LOVING these. Again, he was extremely cooperative.

I mentioned that Jordan is FUN and the following pictures are proof. See what I mean? Eighteen is the perfect age-- you're an adult, but you're still young enough to act like a kid and get away with it! Maybe that's why he was so great as a kindergarten aide! ;)

He cracked me and his Mom up when he peeked from behind the tree. He really looks like a playful, little boy, doesn't he?

He called this his "studious pose." Hope that helps in college. =)

He really did make this session more fun than work for me. =)

Jordan, it was a pleasure to get to know you this year and a privilege to take your pictures. Congratulations and I wish you all the best that the future has to offer.

Jeremiah 29:11-13.

  2. Thanks, Cristi! I'm proud of them, too, if I do say so myself. =)
